We often judge our insides based on other people’s outsides. The shame of feeling alone can lead us to shape shift; squeezing into fragmented versions of what we think we are supposed to be or feel. In our work together we can explore the "You" beyond your representative self and find ways to express the parts of yourself who want to be seen and known.

I believe when we shut out our shadowy parts, we close the door on our light too. Through re-building a mind body connection, practicing self-compassion, embodying authenticity, building shame resilience, and remembering the feeling of alignment with our needs and values, we can begin to know ourselves again. And in turn, better connect to those around us.

I individualize treatment to meet the needs of the person or couple in front of me. Whatever path we take together in the direction of your goals, you will lead the way, and I will walk beside you every step. If you are ready to begin that journey, schedule a free 15 minute call with me to discuss your goals for therapy.

Rose Hedreen

MSW, LICSW

I’m so happy you’re here. I offer psychotherapy, rooted in somatic modalities, to support you in feeling more grounded, supported and connected in your life. My goal is to help clients feel more at home in their bodies and minds, and that begins with a space where you can show up as your whole self, with whatever you’re carrying.

I support clients in regulating the nervous system, which helps them grow their capacity to hold life’s complexity as well as its joys. I believe the body holds answers to some of our deepest questions: our somatic experience, emotions, sensations and thoughts offer a roadmap to understanding ourselves more deeply, and we are our own greatest experts.

Our first session is mostly a conversation where we get to know one another and what you’re hoping to find in our work. I’ll always ask where you’d like to begin, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right to you. I believe we all have the intrinsic capacity to feel good, and that the right space can help us arrive there.

I work with adolescents and adults in Massachusetts, in person in Williamstown and virtually statewide. I hold an LICSW and an MSW from Columbia, and have completed the three-year Somatic Experiencing training, a birth doula training and other trauma-informed certifications.
